Commercial Termite Control Sydney

Termite damage to a commercial asset is an unbudgeted capital event. Redback Commercial Pest Control Sydney designs AS 3660 aligned termite management programs for schools, council buildings, health facilities, warehouses and commercial property portfolios โ€” including K9 detection for hard-to-inspect structures.

Why commercial termite risk is different

Commercial and institutional buildings hide termite activity better than houses do. Large slab areas, expansion joints, service penetrations, suspended floors, planter boxes built against walls, timber-framed demountables and extensive landscaping all give concealed entry paths that never appear during a walkthrough. Activity is frequently found only when a wall lining is opened during an unrelated fitout.

The cost profile is also different. Repairing structural timber in an occupied school, ward, kitchen or warehouse means decanting the space, engaging trades under permit, and potentially losing revenue or teaching days. On a government or leased asset it can also raise questions about whether the occupier met their maintenance obligations, which is exactly where documentation matters.

Sydney’s high-risk termite belts include the Macarthur and south-west corridor, the Hills, the Hawkesbury fringe, northern suburbs bushland interfaces and the Central Coast. Coptotermes species are the primary structural pest here and can forage tens of metres from a nest, so the tree in the neighbouring reserve is genuinely a risk factor for your building.

Our commercial termite program

AS 3660 aligned design

Management systems specified against the Australian Standard for termite management, with the design rationale documented for asset records.

In-ground baiting systems

Perimeter bait stations monitored on a scheduled cycle โ€” the standard approach for large sites where a full chemical barrier is impractical.

Chemical soil barriers

Perimeter and penetration treatments using registered termiticides where the construction and soil profile suit a barrier approach.

K9 detection

Trained detection dogs locate concealed activity in wall cavities, subfloors and stored materials without destructive investigation.

Scheduled inspections

Documented inspection cycles with findings, conducive-condition reports and recommended corrective works for the asset owner.

Fitout and works liaison

Coordination with builders and facility teams during fitouts so slab penetrations, landscaping and drainage do not breach the management system.

Commercial termite work across Sydney

Redback has more than 30 years of termite experience across Sydney, the Macarthur and south-west corridor, the Central Coast and the Illawarra, covering schools and childcare, council and government buildings, health facilities, warehouses, strata portfolios and commercial tenancies.

As a registered NSW Government supplier (ABN 50 664 332 852) we deliver termite programs under both scheduled maintenance contracts and one-off remediation scopes, with reporting formatted for asset management systems and procurement review.

Questions we get asked

How often should a commercial building be inspected?
At least annually as a minimum, and every six months for buildings in high-risk areas, with timber construction, or with a history of activity. Your inspection interval should be recorded in the asset maintenance plan.
It depends on construction, slab detail, soil access, landscaping and site operations. Large sites with extensive perimeter landscaping usually suit in-ground baiting; simpler footprints with accessible soil may suit a barrier.
Detection dogs locate concealed activity behind linings, in subfloors and in stored materials without opening walls โ€” useful in occupied buildings where destructive investigation is disruptive or expensive.
Yes. Station installation and inspections are scheduled around teaching, trading and operational hours, with inductions, permits and SWMS handled in advance.
Every program includes inspection reports, a site plan of the installed system, chemical registers, SDS and a conducive-conditions register with recommended remedial works.
